PLOT
"The Boy in the Striped Pajamas" talks about a little boy, naimed Bruno, who has a dad that is the leader of the nazis. This kid moved out of his house to Berlin, to a bigger house but without his friends. One day he was playing in the woods and he found a "farm" but really it was a concentration camp. He make a new friend called Shmuel who was a kid that lived in the concentration camp. At the next day Shmuel was send to Bruno´s house to clean the glasses and they started talking, they watch them and they punished Shmuel because Bruno lie saying he did not know him. After that Bruno visited Shmuel but he was not there. after that he finaly was there and Bruno promised him that he would go into the concentration camp to find his father but when he entered they were send to a gas chamber and they died.
Big ideas
In my opinion the most powerful idea is the jewis dicrimination and how you could be afected because of your oun invention. The story trys to makes us understand what was happening in those times and how was a bad thing to discriminate other people because they belief different things that you did not belief, and the story is told in the perspective of Bruno and how did he thought that the concentration camps were a very good place but Shmuel makes Bruno think defferently and relly Bruno did not know that his father was killing people and that the invention of his father was the one that killed him.
Making Connections
This story is titally connected to the real life because it talks about the Holocaust and it try to explain without a lot of graphic descriptions how cruel that was and how did the jewis lived in the concentration camp different from the nazis.
