After reading the Hobbit, I really liked Tolkien's style for writing so I decided to read one of his first books, The Silmarillion. This book is full of stories or chapters were they tell you a New adventure with new characters. I decided to read this book because it talks about the start of the land, all that I read in the Hobbit happen after the stories of The Silmarillion were they explain the creation of their lands incluidos the region of Bilbo. I really like this book because it clarifies things I didn't understand from The Hobbit and from the different movies I watched of The Lord of the Rings. I liked that in The Silmarillion they explained with detail the creation of each specie and the most remote land without losing any detail or fact that could affect the story in future, it conecta very well with The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings that in my comprehension are stories that happened after this book.
In my opinión this book is not as good as The Hobbit because I like more a novel style, not a book that is full of different stories and change characters at all time, but The Silmarillion really gave me a very good and much more understand of The Hobbit and all of Lord of the Rings movies which were really confusing. One of the most important explanaciones of The Silmarillion is the story of why elfs and diaria hate each other, and I thought it was a problem that happened just before The Hobbit but is a problem that comes just when the races were created. These are the reasons I liked and disliked this book, and I recommend someone that likes a mythology style and also medieval one.
